Accommodation:

4 Deluxe Double Rooms: all private Thatch & glass forest suites with minibar, tea & coffee making facilities, 3 suites have king sized beds with glass showers. 1 suite has two ¾ beds with bath. All have private forest decks.

1 Master Suite: expansive secluded suite with thatch and glass all around overlooking treetop pool and deck. Stone bath & open glass forest shower, king bed, minibar, tea & coffee making facilities.

Tomba: 2 of the deluxe double rooms (one twin and one king) and the master suite are house together in one villa called Tomba which can be booked for exclusive use. The other 2 deluxe doubles both with king beds are housed in forest suites adjacent to the spa.

Arrival & Departure:

Check-in time is 14:00 hrs unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that due to Trogon House’s remote location amidst the forest, we highly suggest an arrival time during daylight to ensure a smooth arrival since the road leading to Trogon House is a 1.4km forest track. Check-out time is 11:00 hrs.

Meals:

An English breakfast is served daily and included in the rates. However due to popular demand home cooked evening meals will be available on request. There are a lot of options available on our doorstep for light lunches up to 17h00. Clients may also choose from a selection of restaurants in Plettenbergbay for dinner. ( about 15 min drive)

Spa:

The spa needs to be booked 12 hours in advance and is charged at R 400-00 for 2 hours per couple exclusive use. A wood fire, candles, 2 Spa gowns and slippers and 2 Spa towels will be provided. This includes the use of the jacuzzi and steam room. No children under 12 years.

Please note that for cancellations less than 12 hrs in advance the full rate will be charged.

Spa treatments are additional and may be booked on request. Please contact us for specials and packages.

Rates are quoted per person sharing per night including breakfast, VAT and tourism levy. For single occupancy a 50% surcharge rate applies. Exclusive use of Tomba Lodge ( 3 rooms together) is possible.

Children:

Children are welcome at Trogonhouse but children under 8 are not recommended due to elevated structure of lodges. Children under 12 years of age will be charged R500 per night pps in their own double deluxe room all year through. Only the master suite can accommodate an extra single bed for a child sharing the same room as its parents at R500 per night. Children 2 and under stay free of charge. Children 12 years and over, adult rates apply.

Payment and Cancellation Policy:

Full pre-payment is required 14-28 days prior to arrival. Payment has to be effected by bank transfer or cash. Please note that we have no credit card facilities.

Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival - 50% cancellation fee.

Cancellations less than 7 days prior to arrival and no-shows 100%.

Directions from Cape Town

Trogon House & forest spa is situated about 150 km from Mossel Bay and about 50 km from Knysna. The location is The Crags, which is 16 km east from Plettenberg Bay. Simply take the N2, pass Knysna, pass Plettenberg Bay and continue past Keurboomstrand to The Crags. You will notice a Monkeyland sign on the N2, near the BP Garage (the Garage is also known as the Garden Route Superrette). Take the turn-off (on the right) at this BP Garage and follow the Monkeyland signs for a further 2km. The entrance to Trogon House is situated in the car park of Monkeyland. The road to Trogon House is indicated with a sign marked "Trogon House & Forest Spa”. Here you enter a dirt road that takes a you straight into the forest. After a 1.4km drive along the fence of Monkeyland a sign will direct you to turn right to Trogonhouse carpark.

Directions from Port Elizabeth

Trogon House is situated about 240 km from PE (on the N2), pass the Nature’s Valley turn-off (about 16 km from the toll gate), continue a further 500 meters on the N2 and turn to your left at the Monkeyland sign. Continue following the Monkeyland signs for another 2 km on the tarred road. Turn into Monkeyland and you will find the entrance to Trogon House in the car park. The road to Trogon House is indicated with a sign marked "Trogon House & Forest Spa”. Here you enter a dirt road that takes along you straight into the forest. After a 1.4km drive along the fence of Monkeyland a sign will direct you to turn right to Trogonhouse carpark.

Please note that you are driving into the forest to get to Trogon House, the last 1.4 km is a dirt road which is subject to weather conditions and can from times to times be uneven and muddy after rain but is fine for a normal 2x4 car.
